The Best Asparagus Omelette Recipe

It’s asparagus season where I live! I just got some fresh from the farmers market and the first thing I made was this delicious asparagus, garlic and Gouda omelette recipe!

Asparagus, Garlic and Gouda Cheese Omelette Recipe

A delicious spring omelette made with fresh asparagus, garlic, eggs and Gouda cheese!

Servings 1 Omelette

Equipment

  • 1 Cast Iron Pan
  • 1 Bowl to mix eggs
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Fork or Whisk
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Knife

Ingredients
  

  • 4 spears Asparagus, washed and chopped into bite size pieces
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 slice Gouda Cheese
  • olive oil to coat pan
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Begin to heat up cast iron pan over low to medium heat.
  • Add the oil, once warmed through add the asparagus (you want the pan hot enough to sizzle when you add the asparagus but not burn it). Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • While the asparagus is cooking, add eggs to bowl with milk and whisk well.
  • Add the garlic to the asparagus and cook for about a minute.
  • Add the egg mixture in the pan and let it sit until the edges start to firm. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add Gouda cheese to half of the pan.
  • Once the omelette is cooked enough to stay together, carefully scoop the edges and fold one side of the omelette over the cheese side.
  • Flip it one more time if needed to cook all the way through.
  • Remove from pan and enjoy your omelette!
